Hunting for Scottish Ancestors: Two Tales from the Blogosphere

This morning I was led to two Scottish themed posts by way of today's Genealogy Blogging Beat. I thought I would share them, just in case you missed them.

First up is a 'Madness Monday' post in which Teresa of Teresa's Tangled Roots shares her love of Scotland and her wish for her own Scottish ancestry. Unfortunately, for Teresa, her Scottish connection takes an unexpected twist.

Next is a 'Mappy Monday' post by Debbie at Mascot Manor Genealogy. In this post Debbie relates how she used Google Earth to locate the Scottish birthplaces of her 2nd great-grandfather and his siblings.

The details of these author's stories highlight the lasting attraction that the United States held for Scottish emigrants.

Happy Reading!
