Two more articles on Tom Devine's new book, To the Ends of the Earth: Scotland's Global Diaspora, 1750-2010, have been published by The Scotsman. The first is The Scots who left: The Empire builders appeared on 23 August. The second, The Scots who left: how the attitude of America to Scots has changed over the years, is in the August 24th edition of the paper.

After reading these snippets of the book, I'm even more disappointed that I have to wait until October to get a copy. Yes, I could order from Amazon.co.uk, but it would cost about twice as much by the time one figures in the exchange rate and the postage. I suppose it pays to be patient.
