The new BBC Scotland series The Scottish Intellect IS available on the BBC iPlayer. This means you can stream each episode at your convenience for seven days after the first broadcast at 14:05 Wednesday afternoons on the BBC. It's not quite as good as a downloadable podcast, but way better than trying to figure out the time difference in order to stream it live!
